Nanoparticles as an effective drug delivery system in COVID-19
CONCLUSION: Our current studies reveal that nanoparticles may prove very helpful in the delivery of drugs for Covid-19 treatment. Many cases showed that patients, where drugs are delivered with the help of nanoparticles, produced very few side effects.PMID:34649334 | DOI:10.1016/j.biopha.2021.112162

Chemical Structure Similarity Search for Ligand-Based Virtual Screening: Methods and Computational Resources.
Abstract For many years the assumption that "Chemical compounds with similar structures may have similar activities" has been a foundation for lead identification. The similarity can be computed based upon topological, steric, electronic, and/or physical properties. The chemical structure similarity search differs from the chemical substructure search in that the former requires assessment of the properties of each compound and thus no filter can be applied for skipping structures before they are assessed to accelerate the computation. The latter can be accelerated by pre-screening compounds and omitting those tha...

Tenapanor: A new treatment option for hyperphosphatemia in end stage kidney disease
CONCLUSIONS: Tenapanor is the first drug in its class that lowers hyperphosphatemia in ESKD patients through a novel mechanism of action involving paracellular inactive transport. Although more studies are needed, early results indicate that tenapanor may have a place in managing hyperphosphatemia in ESKD patients both as monotherapy and as an adjunct to existing phosphate binder therapy.PMID:35041802 | DOI:10.18433/jpps32284
